How long David Moyes, Issa Diop and Josh Cullen must quarantine and the games they will miss

West Ham United have confirmed that manager David Moyes and two first-team players have tested positive for coronavirus.

Moyes, as well as Issa Diop and Josh Cullen, have all tested positive in what could be a huge setback for the Hammers.

Both players were set to start in West Ham's Carabao Cup clash with Hull City this evening and travelled to the London Stadium for the game.

But the club have since confirmed the positive tests. A club statement read: "West Ham United can confirm that David Moyes, Issa Diop and Josh Cullen have returned positive tests for COVID-19.

"The Club’s medical team were informed of the test results as the team were at London Stadium preparing for this evening’s Carabao Cup third round tie against Hull City. The manager and both players immediately left the stadium and have returned home.

"All three, who are asymptomatic, will now follow Public Health England and Premier League guidelines and protocols.

"Everyone at West Ham United sends their best wishes to David, Issa and Josh."

The question now is what do the results mean for the Hammers? How many games will the trio miss?

As per the government guidelines, Moyes, Diop and Cullen must now self-isolate for 10 days.

The guidelines read: "You should self-isolate for at least 10 days if you have symptoms of coronavirus and you tested positive, had an unclear result or did not have a test, or you tested positive but have not had symptoms.

"If you have symptoms, the 10 days starts from when they started. If you have not had symptoms, the 10 days starts from when you had the test. But if you get symptoms after your test, self-isolate for a further 10 days from when your symptoms start."

That means all three will be unavailable for not only tonight's game with Hull, but Sunday's Premier League home clash with Wolves.

They will also miss the Carabao Cup fourth round clash with either Fleetwood or Everton next week if they beat Hull tonight.

Assistant manager Alan Irvine took charge of this evening's Carabao Cup clash and it is likely he will now be on the sideline for the game against Wolves on the weekend.

Meanwhile, Harrison Ashby and Jack Wilshere replaced Diop and Cullen in the starting XI.
