How local MPs voted on extending coronavirus laws

MPs cast their votes on extending coronavirus laws for a further six months.

The vote was held in the House of Commons on Thursday (March 25).

MPs were asked to approve the regulations for the route out of lockdown and keep some of the emergency powers in the Coronavirus Act in place until September.

It comes as Health Secretary Matt Hancock said he could see an 'end' to the pandemic that would involve managing coronavirus 'more like flu' with repeated and updated vaccinations.

In total, 483 MPs voted in favour while 76 voted against the extension.

Nottingham South MP Lilian Greenwood, Nottingham North MP Alex Norris, Nottingham East MP Nadia Whittome voted for the extension.

Browtowe MP Darren Henry, Rushcliffe MP Ruth Edwards, Gedling MP Tom Randall, Mansfield MP Ben Bradley, Newark MP Robert Jenrick, Ashfield MP Lee Anderson, Sherwood MP Mark Spencer and Bassetlaw MP Brendan Clarke-Smith also voted for the extension.
