How Liverpool could line up against Tottenham with Trent Alexander-Arnold set to return

Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to recover from his back injury to take his place in the Liverpool side to face Tottenham in Sunday's Premier League clash.

Jurgen Klopp's men take on Spurs at Anfield on Sunday, looking for three points to ensure that they end another weekend top of the table.

Liverpool have already surpassed last season's points total, with 76 from 31 games.

But they know they simply cannot afford any slip ups in their title tussle with Manchester City .

Liverpool's stance on Sadio Mane transfer amid Real Madrid interest

“It’s exciting, absolutely,” said the Reds' boss this week. “That’s what we’re always talking about - a season is like that and you constantly prepare a basis for the final weeks.

"We’re now in the final weeks and there will be no interruption anymore, there will only be game after game after game and they all are very, very important.

“We created a wonderful base, now let’s use it.”

Liverpool handed Premier League title boost as battle with Man City hots up

Alexander-Arnold, who missed England's internationals against Czech Republic and Montenegro, is set to remain in the lineup, having started in the 2-1 win over Fulham before the break.

Dejan Lovren is fit to return having been a sub at Craven Cottage, but Klopp is likely to stick with Joel Matip alongside Virgil van Dijk, after the ex-Schalke man's recent impressive displays.

The biggest question is over who starts in midfield alongside Fabinho and Gini Wijnaldum.

Naby Keita is fit but looks set to have to make do with a place on the bench, with James Milner and Jordan Henderson battling to start.

Probable starting XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, van Dijk, Robertson; Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Milner; Salah, Firmino, Mane
