How Liverpool could line up against Arsenal amid injury worries ahead of Premier League return

Liverpool have been handed a fresh injury concern for forward Sadio Mane after the Reds star was substituted off with a knock on international duty. It means that he could be out for their clash against Arsenal next week.

The 29-year-old came off in the 27th minute in Senegal’s 1-1 draw with Togo, though the head coach claimed after that it was more of a precaution.

Anything longer than a week would mean that Mane would miss the clash against Mikel Arteta's side after the international break, compounding on top of a hamstring injury to striker Roberto Firmino that will keep him out of the clash with the Gunners.

The two being out could provide a dilemma for Jurgen Klopp, who may have to change his shape or give a game to either Divock Origi or Takumi Minamino up front.

Midfielders James Milner and Naby Keita are also ruled out of the game, with the duo suffering hamstring injuries in recent matches.

The German manager will have decisions to make in his defensive set-up, as well, with centre-back pairings changing frequently between Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konate next to Virgil Van Dijk at the back.

The rest of the team could be somewhat as expected for Arteta, with the threat of Mohamed Salah well known, as well as the damage caused by the attacking full-backs of the Reds.

One line-up could see Origi return following his stunning goal in the Carabao Cup against Norwich.

Lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Thiago; Salah, Origi, Jota.

Another possible starting XI could see Minamino get his chance to shine in the first team, with Jota moving into a more central position.
