How Liverpool are helping 'cheeky' Roberto Firmino make a difference for Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp has explained the integral role played by "cheeky" Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino.

The No.9 became the first Brazilian player to score 50 Premier League goals on Saturday, with his pinpoint strike sealing a 3-0 win against Burnley.

Firmino made his sixth appearance of the season at Turf Moor and has become a vital cog in Klopp's set up.

Blood Red: Is Roberto Firmino the best Brazilian to have graced the Premier League?

The Liverpool boss praised the crucial part the 27-year-old plays for the Champions League winners.

"Hopefully it stays like this, (him) hardly missing a game! He missed a few and that was not too cool, but Bobby - what can I say about him that not everybody knows already?" Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com.

"He’s an incredibly important player. He enjoys it so much to play in this team, to be really there with all these super guys around him.

"That’s what helps him then, of course: if you have the speed around you, you can be this little cheeky guy in between the lines, being there and scoring the goals. Yeah, he’s a very valuable player for us."

Firmino and compatriot Fabinho are currently on international duty with Brazil.

The Selecao will take on Colombia this Saturday before hosting Peru next Wednesday.
