How likely is it the Boston Celtics might bring in a veteran to help start the 2022-23 NBA season?

How likely is it the Boston Celtics might bring in a veteran to help start the 2022-23 NBA season? In the wake of reserve forward Danilo Gallinari’s meniscal tear, the Celtics might consider adding veteran talent to the bench if they have concerns about how long the Italian swingman could be out.

The prognosis being reported is a good one. Gallo is expected back on the court sometime in November. That timetable would have him missing training camp, which means he would need time to work his way back into game shape.

It doesn’t seem likely an unsigned veteran such as Carmelo Anthony would be a serious target for the Celtics, but is there a scenario in which it might make sense?

Heavy’s Sean Deveney and Steve Bulpett recently discussed scenarios in which it might be a good idea for Boston to ink some veteran help.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear their takes on such a contingency plan.
