Lewis Grabban sets an “amazing” example for his Nottingham Forest teammates with his work-rate up front.
Head coach Sabri Lamouchi says there is more to the Reds striker than simply finding the back of the net, after he put in a standout performance in Tuesday night’s 1-0 win at Cardiff City - including setting up Tiago Silva for the winner.
Grabban is Forest’s top scorer, with his 16 goals so far this term having been a significant factor in the club’s promotion push.
He has not scored in his last six appearances, but Lamouchi says his importance to the team should not go unnoticed.
“If Lewis is running like he did on Tuesday, fighting like that and working hard for the team, it is not just an example, it is amazing,” said the Frenchman.
“With the others behind him, if they are also running and fighting like that, we are ready.
“If he plays all the time like that and doesn’t score again before the end of the season but we win 11 games 1-0, I sign immediately!
“We have more of a chance to win games when Lewis plays like that. He is such a crucial player.”
And it is not just Grabban whose dedication to the cause continues to impress Lamouchi.
Skipper Ben Watson has been in top form this term and typifies the kind of spirit which has become a hallmark of the manager’s squad.
“We have many key players and fantastic players, like our captain, Ben Watson. He is so smart and so clever - what quality from this guy,” Lamouchi added.
“I am so proud and satisfied about the commitment and the spirit inside the dressing room and on the pitch.”
