How Leeds United's win at Preston has impacted their promotion odds

Championship fans have been treated to a full quota of midweek action and the first of two jam-packed nights certainly did not disappoint.

Bristol City edged fellow playoff-chasers West Brom in a five-goal thriller, storming into a three-goal lead before the Baggies fought back in the second-half, while Leeds United bounced back from a defeat against Birmingham City by defeating Preston North End.

The victory for Marcelo Bielsa’s side could prove to be decisive as the Whites are now priced at 4/9 for promotion, with the odds shortening after their latest triumph, but OddsChecker still has Sheffield United ahead of them at 2/5.

Bristol City, meanwhile, have seen their odds shorten to 13/2 after their win and are now as short as 3/10 to secure a top-six finish, ahead of Middlesbrough, Derby County and company.

Norwich City, unsurprisingly, remain favourites for the title, while Ipswich Town and Bolton Wanderers look set for relegation, while Rotherham United are the favourites to join them in League One next season with a price of 8/11.
