How Leeds United's badge will look for their centenary year

It's been more than a year since Leeds United introduced and quickly ditched a new crest to commemorate the club's centenary.

The club turns 100 this year, but following the negative reaction to the proposed 'salute' crest, fans were initially invited to submit their own designs for a new badge, before the plans to introduce a brand new crest were shelved indefinitely.

Instead, the club will be making a minor alteration to the existing badge to mark their 100th birthday.

With the club now stepping up their plans for next season's centenary campaign by putting season tickets on sale, eagle eyed fans have spotted a slightly different badge design on the supplementary marketing materials.

The tonal design mirrors the current badge, but is missing the horizontal LUFC script, replacing it with the words 'Leeds United' above it, the dates 1919 and 2019 on either side and 100 years on a script below.

Fans have been quick to weigh in on the design on social media, with a largely positive response.

With the club set to celebrate the centenary in style expect to hear plenty more about what is in store over the coming weeks and months.
