A future Leeds United manager? Lee Bowyer's post-match gesture keeps Elland Road fans onside

Though a former Leeds United favourite, Lee Bowyer did his former side no favourites when they visited his Charlton Athletic team on Saturday.

The Addicks boss masterminded a 1-0 victory over Marcelo Bielsa's team, courtesy of a Macauley Bonne goal.

It was a familiar story for Bielsa's side, who struggled to break down a resolute Charlton defence.

Though Bowyer was hoping for a Leeds United loss, he still has a soft spot for the Whites.

In his programme notes, Bowyer said: "Leeds is, obviously, a club where I spent a large part of my career and the time I spent there has a special part in my heart."

After the game Bowyer walked over to the travelling Leeds United fans - even doing the famous Leeds salute.
