How League One is predicted to finish after Bristol Rovers win but Portsmouth and Sunderland slip up

Bristol Rovers produced a true statement win at Ipswich Town on Saturday, beating the Tractor Boys and further cementing their rather surprising status as League One play-off hopefuls.

Surprising only perhaps to outsiders like us, as the confidence and team spirit with in the side - with or without manager Graham Coughlan - has helped carry them into this position as the victory at Portman Road was also achieved without top scorer Jonson Clarke-Harris.

Elsewhere in League One, Wycombe Wanderers have almost certainly shed their dark horse title as Gareth Ainsworth team maintained their rule at the summit with a 2-0 win over Burton Albion at Adam's Park.

Peterborough's 1-0 win over Bolton edged them ever closer to Ipswich in second but there were disappointing results for Sunderland as their 1-1 draw at home to Blackpool left them 12th while Portsmouth's 10-match unbeaten run in all competitions came to an abrupt halt with a 4-1 thumping at the hands of Accrington.

Predicting exactly how this gloriously inconsistent league will finish by early May isn't exactly an excat science, and that is part of the fun. However, renowned American statistican Nate Silver, via his FiveThirtyEight website, believes he has the most accurate model for forecasting the standings and the probability of where each team will finish.

Based on FiveThirtyEight's simulation, here is how League One is set to finish taking into consideration results so far and the games ahead.
