How Kevin Costner ensures wife 19 years younger than him won't 'look elsewhere'

Kevin Costner says he likes to “play hard” so his “beautiful wife” is not tempted to stray.

The Bodyguard actor, 64, who stars in new Netflix Bonnie and Clyde biopic The Highwaymen, is married to former model Christine Baumgartner, 45.

The couple have two sons and a daughter, and Costner said: “I try to stay relevant because I have three kids I play with. I play hard and I try to take care of myself. I have a beautiful wife and I don’t want her to look anywhere else.

“I want to be something for her. I want to stay interested in life.”

Meghan Markle's 'unflattering new nickname' will have angered Prince Harry, claims expert

In The Highwaymen, out tomorrow, Costner stars as Texas ranger Frank Hamer, who hunts down the outlaw lovers with partner Maney Gault, played by Woody Harrelson, 57. He said it could only have been made for a streaming service, but a good plot was all that mattered.

Costner said: “I chase stories. Literacy has propped up my career – not just my natural charm. Movies are in flux right now, but this movie would have never made it to the big screen.”
