How Katie Price's mucky mansion compares with Peter Andre's pristine palace

It was a match made in showbiz heaven when Katie Price and Peter Andre tied the knot in 2005 with a fairytale wedding at Highclere Castle.

The reality stars seemed to be living love young dreams as they dominated headlines with their public displays of affection and multiple fly-on-wall television series documenting their family life.

However, it wasn't to last. In May 2009, the glamour model and singer announced they had separated and a divorce followed shortly after in September of the same year.

The former couple, who share children Junior, 15, and 13-year-old Princess Tiaamii together, have since gone on to find love with new partners and have more children without each other.

The Mysterious Girl singer now resides in an incredible Surrey mansion with his wife Emily MacDonagh and their two children, Amelia, seven and four-year-old Theo.

Meanwhile, Katie has had multiple relationships since her split from the Aussie star but is now happily engaged to partner Carl Woods. The former car dealer from Essex lives with the model and her five children in her Sussex pad, dubbed the 'Mucky Mansion'.

We take a look at the current properties of the one-time couple and compare their homes away from each other.

Despite previously being worth £45million at the height of her fame, the former glamour model was declared bankrupt in August 2018 - with debts totalling more than £3.5 million.

The star's money woes undoubtably had an impact on her one-time glamorous family home - with unfinished repairs, dog poo and general neglect leading to the mock Tudor house being referred to as the 'Mucky Mansion'.

Katie purchased the West Sussex home at the peak of her success in 2014 for £1.3million but years of neglect, floods and cash flow problems have seen it fall into disarray - with the reality TV star at one point moving into rented accommodation.

However, it seems the 42-year-old is determined to restore the Horsham property back to its former glory and bounce back after years of interior setbacks.

Earlier this year, the star set up the plucky_mansion Instagram account and has been documenting her rebrand of her family home to over 150,000 followers.

The resilient celebrity has even invited fans to help her transform it, offering the chance for people to design a room in the house - at their own cost, of course.

Over the years, the mum-of-five has had multiple setbacks with her property - the most recent being when firefighters were called out when it caught fire in September 2020.

The accident came after the huge house had already begun to be plagued with problems like a broken cesspit, a rotting swimming pool, security issues and mucky pets.

In 2018, a former regular visitor to the house claimed that the star's residence "smells like a petting zoo" and accused Katie of letting her animals poo indoors without cleaning it up.

The source told The Sun: "Dogs' mess has, on occasion, been left on the floor without being cleaned up, along with used kitty litter."

They added: "Katie is of the mentality that a bit of dirt is good for you, but her home wasn't a pleasant place to be in."

In October last year, the star admitted to the Mirror that her housekeeping style differs from that of her fiance Carl Woods.

Speaking while residing away from the Mucky Mansion, the model said: "I've moved in with him (Carl), the kids will stay at his, but his house is the show home, it's immaculate, but mine is more like the Jungle Book."

She laughed: "Mine's the Jungle Book where the kids can be as feral as they like but his is tidy, immaculate - you would spot a bit of dust if it was there."

Peter Andre's pristine palace

Peter Andre amazed fans at the end of 2020 when he gave a glimpse inside his incredible Surrey mansion.

The 48-year-old gave a video tour of his impressive house, which features a gym, cinema room and a recording studio.

The one-time singer shares his home with Emily and their children, as well as rooms for his kids from his marriage to Katie.

In December last year, the reality TV star gave Hello magazine an exclusive look behind the doors of his sprawling mansion.

As the dad-of-four showed cameras around his family abode, he revealed some of his favourite aspects of the property.

"I love it, you put music on and you feel like you're in a proper training session," the TV personality said of his very own private gym that boasts blue LED ceiling lighting.

The house seems to follow a blue, grey and cream colour scheme, with even an impressive dining room following suite, but Peter admitted that's the one room that he doesn't frequent much.

"It's one of those dining rooms we don't really use unless we've got guests," he told Hello. "Generally, we all sit around the island."

The island mentioned by the Aussie dad is situated in the kitchen, lined with cobalt blue stools to match the chairs in the dining room.

The upstairs of the property is equally as impressive; boasting a recording studio, dressing rooms and playrooms for the children.

Peter revealed on camera that the master bedroom includes a smart TV bed, with a flatscreen coming out of the frame.

"It's something I've always wanted," he confessed when showing how he and his wife watch TV of an evening.

However, it's the outdoor space that Peter is particularly proud of.

Keen foodie and chef Peter took viewers into his garden which features a hot tub, fire pit and, most importantly, a BBQ area.

"It doesn't matter if it's winter or summer, we love to do barbies," he joked.
