How Kate Middleton was inspired by a brave little boy at Bristol Hospital

Kate Middleton has shared the emotional story behind how one little boy at a Bristol Hospital inspired her.

The Duchess of Cambridge has shared the inspiration behind a collection of images which will be a part of her community photography project titled Hold Still and will be exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery.

The exhibition was launched by Kate during lockdown where she asked members of the public to share images that they had captured during that time - and that includes Franck.

Franck is a five-year-old boy who is being treated for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia by nurses from Bristol Children's Hospital.

The photograph sees Franck receiving treatment at home during lockdown and alongside the image, a caption reads: "Franck's Fight: This shows our five-year-old son Franck, who is being treated for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, having his hospital chemo at home during lockdown.

"The treatment is being administered by his CLIC Sargent nurses from the Children's Oncology/Haematology ward at Bristol Children's Hospital. Franck was the first patient of theirs to receive this new way of receiving treatment. The care they give him and us as a family is incredible and we can't thank them enough."

More than 30,000 images were submitted by the general public and the chosen 100 photographs have been exhibited online since Saturday, September 19.

These included an elderly couple clapping for the NHS, a young girl and her grandmother playing noughts and crosses by drawing on a window as well as a photograph of a key worker in full PPE titled 'The Man Behind the Mask.'

Some images in the collection will be shown around the country in towns and cities later this year.
