How Kate Middleton, Prince William, Camila's titles change when Prince Charles ascends to the throne

The Queen's Platinum Jubilee put the Royals firmly in the limelight as much of the country came together over the four-day weekend to celebrate the Queen's 70 years on the throne. As the UK reflected on the monarch's reign, some considered the future and what that meant to the working Royals next in line.

Should Queen Elizabeth II step down from her role - after all she has now ruled for longer than any other Monarch in British history - the royal line of succession places the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles next in line to take the throne. However, he may not take the title of King Charles.

While Charles could become King Charles III, the most recent monarch to bear the name Charles since the 17th century, he could opt for something else. Nottinghamshire Live previous reported that as Prince Charles' full name is Charles Philip Arthur George, so when he is King he could adopt any of the given names in his title. Perhaps we could have a King Arthur!

Of course, as Charles adopts a new title, he will also lose titles. Charles will no longer be Prince of Wales and other royal members may find themselves with new tiles.

Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, is second in line to the throne. He would inherit the title Prince of Wales - a title reserved for the male heir to the throne. And according to Birmingham Live, Kate Middleton, who is currently referred to as the Duchess of Cambridge will be referred to as the Princess of Wales.

Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, turned that role down previously. Camilla turned it down out of respect for Princess Diana when she married Charles.

Camilla will become Queen Consort when Charles becomes King. However, when the crown is handed over to William, Kate will very probably be referred to as Queen Catherine - Catherine being her full name.
