Kim Kardashian has been enjoying dates with Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson in recent months but decided not to take him up on his offer to see in the new year together.
Some fans had been eagerly awaiting snaps of the pair sharing a smooch as the bells chimed for 2022, but were left disappointed as the 28-year-old comedian and 41-year-old reality TV star spent the night apart.
It had been reported that Pete had invited the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star to join him in Miami as he co-hosted an NBC New Year's Eve special alongside Miley Cyrus - who had a wardrobe malfunction at the gig.
But Hollywood Life has now reported the alleged reason Kim was a no-show - estranged hubby Kanye West.
A source close to Kim told the publication: "Kim was on the fence about going to Miami because she really wanted to be with Pete. She knew how much this gig meant to him and how much he wanted her to be there.
"He had asked her [to go to Miami] when they spent Christmas together in LA. But when she contacted Kanye to ask if he would be available to watch the kids, Kanye said he wouldn’t be."
Kim reportedly didn't know what Kanye - now officially called 'Ye - had planned, but decided to stay home with their four kids, North, eight, Saint, six, Chicago, three, and two-year-old Psalm.
The source continued: "Kim knew that one of them needed to be there with their kids on New Year’s Eve because they made a pact to always have one of them there with the children on holidays.
"Because Kanye said he had plans, Kim cancelled any tentative plans she had to go [to Miami] on the 31st. Kim always puts her kids first no matter what."
However, it turned out that the Gold Digger rapper, 44, was hosting his own party in the Sunshine State and the source said Kim feels as though he is "playing games" with her.
"She can't wait until this divorce is finalised," the source confessed.
Kim filed for divorce last February, bringing to an end their seven-year marriage.
Kim and the Grammy award-winning rapper tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Italy back in 2014.
It's reported that the couple need to split their combined net worth of an eye-watering $2.1billion, which makes negotiations a little tougher than the average divorce.
