How Juventus responded after Jose Mourinho was offered to Italian giants

Juventus politely declined Jorge Mendes' ambitious proposal which would have seen Jose Mourinho replace Massimiliano Allegri as the club’s manager.

Allegri’s future at the Italian giants is in doubt despite delivering an eighth successive Serie A title for the club this season.

The Turin club have long dreamt to taste Champions League success, having won the European Cup twice, but once again came up short this campaign as they were shocked by Ajax.

That has led to question marks over Allegri's standing in the dugout, though the club are yet to make a decision on his long-term future.

And according to Corriere dello Sport , super agent Mendes got wind of these rumours and reportedly contacted the club over their managerial plans.

Mendes, who is Mourinho’s representative, is believed to have proposed the possibility of Mourinho becoming their manager for the next campaign.

Juventus , however, were not keen on that offer and it is claimed Mourinho’s management style is considered ‘too far’ by club chiefs.

Another former Premier League manager linked with Juventus, should Allegri depart this summer, is Antonio Conte.

The former Chelsea boss recently ruled out an immediate move to Roma where he was considered the favourite to replace Claudio Ranieri at the end of the season.

Conte, however, hopes to return to management soon and Juve are reportedly among the teams who could secure his services.

"I have a problem: winning," he said this month. "It is the goal of my work. The way there involves work, sacrifice, a unity of purpose, of thinking about us and not about me. I don't know any other way."
