Eddie Howe has reiterated Joshua King is fully focused on helping his Bournemouth teammates despite seeing a deadline day move to Manchester United fall through.
United had a bid to sign the Norwegian international rejected last month as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looked for a new attacking option to offset the loss of Marcus Rashford to a back injury.
Odion Ighalo finally agreed a move to Old Trafford on a five-month loan deal.
King could feature for Bournemouth against Sheffield United on Sunday after returning to training following a six-week injury-lay-off earlier this week.
Speaking in his press conference ahead of the the Cherries' trip to Bramall Lane, Howe urged the forward to concentrate on helping his side avoid relegation rather than rue what could have been.
“That was a difficult couple of days for him, but a huge compliment and a huge moment for him, to have Manchester United come in and express an interest in him,” said Howe.
“But he’s very focused on our current position and this club.
“He knows we’re in a relegation fight; it’s no time for him to focus on himself, he knows that, and he’s very much a team player.
“So he’s looking forward to being fit and contributing to our battle.”
