Ex-Rangers forward Josh Windass has revealed how a potential move to Santos fell through.
The 31-year-old was linked with a surprising transfer to the Brazilian giants in January of this year.
Ultimately, the switch never came to fruition, with Windass ending the season at Sheffield Wednesday, who eventually finished 12th in the English Championship.

He recently lifted the lid on his potential move to Santos: "I had a call off a number I didn't know, a foreign number," he said [Open Goal].
"I rang it back and I texted it saying 'Who is this?'. He said, 'It's Pedro [Caixinha], can you give us a ring?'
"So I rang it, and he was like 'Big Josh, do you want to come and play for me again?'. I said, 'If you pay me, yeah, I will'.
"And then they put a bid in to Sheffield Wednesday and it got turned down straight away, so I couldn't do anything about it.
"It never got that far. They put in an offer, it got knocked back. I spoke to Sheffield Wednesday and they said, 'You're not leaving, you're staying until the end of the season no matter what'."
Santos signed Neymar not long after they were linked with Windass. The Englishman quashed any suggestions that the ex-Barcelona and PSG star was a transfer alternative: "He was always going anyway," he said.
"People made it out as if 'They couldn't get me, so they got Neymar'. It was stupid."
Windass played 73 times for Rangers, scoring 19 goals and assisting 13. He departed not long after Steven Gerrard initially joined the club.
