With a market cap of $24.5 billion, the company offers consumable products, packaged food, perishables, produce, over-the-counter medicines, and personal care products, and more.
Companies worth $10 billion or more are typically referred to as "large-cap stocks." Despite its strengths, the stock has plunged 17.6% from its 52-week high of $135.46 touched on Jul. 12 last year. Moreover, over the past three months, DG stock has surged 39.7%, outperforming the SPDR S&P Retail ETF’s (XRT) 13.1% uptick during the same time frame.

DG stock has gained 47.3% on a YTD basis, outperforming XRT’s 5.3% decline in 2025. However, DG has declined 10% over the past 52 weeks, underperforming XRT’s marginal dip.

Moreover, its adjusted EPS for the quarter came in at $1.78, surpassing the consensus estimates by 21.1%. Dollar General expects full-year earnings to be $5.20 to $5.80 per share.
