How Ireland can win Six Nations after bonus point win over Italy

The fate of the 2020 Six Nations title is in Ireland's hands following this afternoon's 50-13 win over Italy at the Aviva Stadium.

Andy Farrell's men now know that a bonus point win in Paris next Saturday will give them the trophy.

Here's a look at how things stand in the Six Nations.

Saturday, October 31 final round of fixtures

Wales v Scotland, 2:15pm

Italy v England, 4:45pm

France v Ireland, 8:05pm

The results Ireland need

It's all in Ireland's hands and if they match England's result, they'll win the title.

As unlikely as it might seem, should Andy Farrell's side win with a bonus point at the Stade de France, they'll be out of sight and guaranteed to win the Championship.

If they win without a bonus point, they'll be on 18 championship points. Eddie Jones' England could catch them with a bonus point win in Rome and it would then be down to points difference.

A draw in Paris would rule France out of the race but England would only need a standard victory to overtake Ireland and win the tournament.

Win with a bonus point - Champions

Win without a bonus point, England win without a bonus point - Champions

Win without a bonus point, England win with a bonus point - Down to points difference

Draw - England will overtake them with a win

Lose - Can't win the title

Standings

1st: Ireland, 16pts, +38 pts difference

2nd: England, 13pts, +15 pts difference

3rd: France, 13pts, + 13 pts difference
