The then-Hannover left back was part of Marc Wilmot's squad who came to Glasgow and recorded a comfortable 2-0 win thanks to goals from Steven Defour and Kevin Mirallas.

Pocognoli came on as a second-half substitute for Marouane Fellaini in front of 36,000 fans as Gordon Strachan's side suffered a disappointing defeat.

He was recalled after the Finals and won the last of his caps later that year.
