How hot will it get where you are as the Met Office forecasts a week long spring heatwave for Wales

Wales has been treated to a little taste of summer this weekend as temperatures reached their highest so far this year. On Saturday, March 19 some parts of of the country such as Bangor reached highs of 17°C, while other parts of the UK saw sizzling temperatures of up to 20°C.

If you've made plans with family or friends for Sunday, March 20 you can expect more fine weather with plenty of sunshine across Wales. Temperatures are likely to be slightly cooler than Saturday with highs of around 12°C.

Luckily the feel-good weather seems here to stay as the weekend draws to a close and we enter the new week. Some parts of Wales will look forward to seeing highs of 18°C on Tuesday, March 22, according to the Met Office.

The Met Office forecast for Wales from Sunday, March 20 to Wednesday, March 23 reads: "Another fine day is likely across most of Wales tomorrow with plenty of sunshine, especially in the morning. Cloudier skies are likely across the southwest though, giving the odd shower. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

"High pressure will dominate the weather during the first half of next week. It looks largely dry with some sunshine. Breezy at first, but winds easing, and warming up too." You can get more weather and other story updates by subscribing to our newsletters here.

What will the weather be like for the rest of the UK?

On Sunday, March 20 most parts of the UK are dry with good spells of sunshine. It will be cloudier at times over East Anglia and far southeast England where a little showery rain is possible. It will be breezy and will feel colder than today.

Between Monday, March 21 and Wednesday, March 23 there is a chance of a few isolated showers, otherwise the weather is generally fine and dry with plenty of sunshine after some early mist and fog. Expect a cold and frosty start on Monday, March 21 before it turns warmer.
