How has the nursing profession changed your life?

The pressure on NHS nurses is well documented. There are more nurses leaving the profession than joining it, with 40,000 unfilled vacancies, a 96% drop in the number of EU nurses registering to work in the UK in the past year and strong support for industrial action over pay.

But despite its challenges, nursing is a rewarding profession for many and thousands of nurses make a difference to their patients’ lives every day. We want to celebrate the nursing profession. Tell us why you love your job, what your career defining moments have been and which patients will always stay with you.

We’d also love to hear from patients who want to say thank you to a nurse who played a role in your care and recovery. Perhaps this person went above and beyond the call of duty at a critical moment, took the time to build a close bond with you, or simply brought you a longed-for cup of tea.
