Gareth Bale could leave Real Madrid and join Manchester United for as little as £5million.
The Welshman looks set to depart the Spanish capital this summer having fallen out of the picture under boss Zinedine Zidane.
Bale 's hefty price tag is thought to be putting off potential buyers and it could prove an issue for Los Blancos, reports The Mirror .
The club do not want to accept an offer that does not meet their valuation, having signed the former Tottenham star for £90m in 2013.
However Marca report the club are willing to lower their demands, and could let Bale go out on loan, in a similar move to the one that took James Rodriguez to Bayern Munich.
Rodriguez has been on loan with the German club for the past two seasons, with Madrid receiving a fee of £5m per year in exchange.
This would be an ideal scenario for United, who have held a long-term interest in Bale, but may not have the necessary funds to sign him permanently this summer.
Any deal would involve United picking up Bale's £500,000 per week salary, but they remain one of just a small number of clubs who could afford to sanction such a move.
Bale's days at Madrid are seemingly numbered, after he was booed during the 3-0 win over Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.
He came on after 70 minutes but was booed and whistled at by home fans inside the Santiago Bernabeu every time he touched the ball.
Eventually he held his hand up to the crowd to acknowledge he had heard their cries and signal his displeasure.
Despite starting the first three matches in Zidane's second spell at the club, Bale has featured largely off the bench in the last four games.
The French boss is believed not to be the biggest supporter of Bale, despite them winning three Champions League titles together.
Zidane did concede that he did not understand the fans treatment of Bale though, and added: "I feel for him. I would like to have seen him score today [against Bilbao]."
