How fast is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 charging speed?

Best answer: The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 sports the same wired charging speed as its predecessor. That's 25W wired charging. However, it's actually a step down from 15W wireless charging to just 10W wireless, a puzzling decision.

What else to know about the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7's battery and charging specs

The Galaxy Z Flip 7's wired charging speeds remain unchanged compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Specifically, it supports 25W wired charging, which Samsung calls Super Fast Charging. It's not as quick as some leading traditional smartphones, but it will get you back up and running in a decent amount of time.

However, what's most puzzling is that the wireless charging speed is slower for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 than it is with the Galaxy Z Flip 6, at just 10W wireless charging versus 15W. Considering 15W is still numbingly slow, 10W means you're probably better off only using wireless charging when you desperately need a top-up. It would take ages to get your phone from red to full at this speed.

The phone still includes 4.5W Wireless PowerShare, which is reverse wireless charging that allows you to recharge other compatible Samsung devices.

It's worth noting that the battery itself has been bumped up from a 4,000mAh capacity in the Galaxy Z Flip 6 to a 4,300mAh capacity. So, the phone should theoretically last longer overall.

Nonetheless, the lack of charging upgrades is disappointing for Galaxy Z Flip fans. Samsung has brought 45W charging to various price points over the years, most recently the budget Samsung Galaxy A36. However, the company's premium flagships have been left out.

For now, if you want ultra-fast charging, you'll have to stick with a traditional Samsung Galaxy non-flip device. And if you want faster wireless charging, you can consider the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, which does support 15W wireless charging.
