Paris Saint-Germain's £28m transfer that could affect Chelsea before deadline day

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed the signing of Idrissa Gueye.

The 29-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the reigning Ligue 1 champions after leaving Everton and news of this deal came via the club's official website this morning.

This transfer - thought to be in the region of £28m - could affect Chelsea who are currently under a two-window ban.

They aren't permitted to register any new players, although they did manage to turn Mateo Kovacic's loan from Real Madrid into a permanent one as he was already registered with the club.

Furthermore, there have been a number of departures from Stamford Bridge this summer.

The likes of Eden Hazard, Gary Cahill, Ola Aina, Jay Dasilva and Tomas Kalas have all left permanently, while Ethan Ampadu, Lewis Baker, Matt Miazga and Charly Musonda are among those to have been loaned out.

Could Tiemoue Bakayoko be the next out?

The midfielder spent last season on loan at AC Milan and would have joined permanently had they secured Champions League football for the 2019/2020 campaign and has since returned to Chelsea and featured under Frank Lampard in pre-season.

But when addressing his future last month, Bakayoko admitted he was in the dark in regards to where he will be playing his football in the upcoming season.

"My future? Yes, I will go back to Chelsea," he told French publication L'Equipe. "I still have a three-year contract. I have no choice.

"I don't know what will happen after that but I have to go back to Chelsea. It is the only thing I know.

"I had difficult moments [at Milan], especially at the start. I'm sad to go away but this is life.

"Gattuso? I had a complicated relationship with him, we didn't understand each other. I don't really want to talk about him.

"It is difficult to hear certain things, especially when they are false. It didn't go the way it was told but we know the current world, a piece of news is enough to analyse the situation."

Latest rumours suggest Bakayoko has emerged as a target for fellow Premier League outfit Everton.

The Toffees are the lookout for midfield reinforcements after selling Gueye to PSG.

Last week RMC claimed that Bakayoko is one of the players on Everton's shortlist alongside Lyon’s Lucas Tousart, Nice midfielder Adrien Tameze and Mainz’s Jean-Philippe Gbamin.
