How Erling Haaland reacted to Manchester United transfer as Chelsea plot £150m bid

Signing Erling Haaland of Borussia Dortmund is a top priority for Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel this summer.

The German, appointed back in January to replace club legend Frank Lampard, is desperate to bolster his attacking options during this current transfer window and he believes that Haaland is the best option to do just that.

The Dortmund ace, who netted a staggering 41 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions during the 2020/21 campaign, has been tracked by the Blues for several months, with the west London club hoping that their perseverance will finally pay off and they'll entice the Norway international to Stamford Bridge.

However, the Blues will have to pay well over £100million if they are to convince Dortmund into selling him, so much so that they are now preparing a bid, according to 90Min, worth a staggering £150million, hoping that will be enough to convince Dortmund to let him go.

It would smash their club-record transfer fee, that is for sure, but it would also send out a huge statement of intent to their Premier League rivals if it was to happen.

However, Dortmund may not be willing to let Haaland go this summer without digging their heels in, even if they attract a big-money bid, because they have already inherited a massive sum of money from the sale of Jadon Sancho to Manchester United.

The Old Trafford outfit have agreed a £73million fee with Dortmund, and Sancho will finalise the move following the conclusion of Euro 2020, subject to personal terms being agreed and a medical being passed.

For Haaland, however, whatever the future holds for him, whether it be in Germany or joining Sancho in making the switch to the Premier League, he has responded to the idea that he will not be playing with the England international anymore.

Ahead of England's Euro 2020 semi-final with Denmark on Wednesday evening at Wembley, Sancho uploaded a picture to his Instagram account of himself appearing to be in looked in good spirits. He captioned the post with a smiling emoji.

The upload drew a response from Haaland, who commented on the post with a crying face emoji suggesting that he is gutted by the fact that he will not be playing alongside the winger again.

Sancho and Haaland were nothing short of outstanding for Dortmund during the 2020/21 campaign, scoring a combined total of 57 goals in all competitions.

They also registered 32 assists between themselves.

Now it remains to be seen if they will go up against each other in the Premier League in the forthcoming campaign.
