How Emmerdale Dan Spencer actor Liam Fox found love again with uni sweetheart he first dated 28 years ago

Liam Fox is a firm favourite with Emmerdale viewers having been on the ITV soap for the past 10 years.

In his role as Dan Spencer, he's been married three times - with one of them void due to his spouse being a bigamist - and he was branded 'Desperate Dan' when he first starred on the show.

He has starred in over 800 episodes after originally being contracted for just eight and when he was signed up to the show in 2011, he was married to another famous soap star.

Liam had been married to Nicole Barber-Lane who used to play Hollyoaks matriarch Myra McQueen.

As Myra, Nicole was the feisty head of Hollyoaks' most famous family and after a run of notable storylines, she quit the soap in 2019 following the breakdown of her relationship with ex-partner Sally St Claire.

Liam and Nicole have two children together but sadly after 16 years of marriage, the pair divorced in 2015.

In a joint statement released at the time, the couple, who split amicably, said: "It is with much sadness that we confirm the end of our marriage, though our family unit remains strong.

"We will always love and respect each other and are united by our children and family remaining at the centre of our lives."

Since Liam's split from Nicole, he has found love again - with an ex-girlfriend who he dated while he was at university.

Liam is now married to Joanna Hudson, with the loved-up pair tying the knot in 2020.

They first set eyes on each other at Salford University 28 years ago but after reuniting following his divorce, Liam and Joanna became romantically involved again in 2017.

Their wedding at Peckforton Castle was attended by several Emmerdale stars, including Bob Hope actor Tony Audenshaw and Sam Dingle star James Hooton.
