Edinson Cavani's experience and professionalism is helping the dressing room culture and standard of training at Manchester United.
That is according to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who waxed lyrical about the Uruguayan striker after his goal set United on course for a deserved 2-0 victory at Everton.
The win in the Carabao Cup last eight at Goodison Park, in which Anthony Martial also found the net, has set United up for a semi-final showdown with Manchester City - for a second successive year.
United had to work hard for the win after missing numerous early chances, but finally asserted their dominance late on through Cavani's and Martial's goals.
Solskjaer was asked whether the 33-year-old's strike could kickstart his United career, which has been affected by injury so far.
"I don’t think [he] has had a slow start, I think he’s done really well," said Solskjaer in response to the claim that Cavani had begun slowly at Old Trafford.
"I think he's been excellent. Obviously he's been injured, anyone can be injured, and he came late [in the transfer window]."
Mason Greenwood has been among the United players to cite how Cavani's experience has helped behind the scenes in training and Solskjaer reinforced that claim.
"I'm really pleased with his influence in the dressing room, his habits in training, his attitude to the game," added the Norwegian.
"You can see how well he looks after himself, he's scored some very important goals for us and he gives us a lot of experience. He’s going to get better and better of course, because he was out for seven months and we've been patient with him, but I think he's made a big impact."
