How Eat Out To Help Out could cut down your bar bill too

The UK Government's Eat Out to Help Out scheme has officially launched today, with venues across Glasgow taking part.

Glaswegians across the city will benefit from 50% off their meals throughout August in a bid to boost the hospitality sector.

However, it's not just restaurants where the scheme applies - bars, pubs and cafes can also take part. Although the initiative isn't without controversies and some people are more comfortable staying away from restaurants and pubs, if you do want to take part in the scheme, your options are wider than you may have thought.

Although Eat Out To Help Out doesn't include alcoholic drinks, you can still get your crisps and soft drinks for significantly cheaper if your local is participating in the campaign.

So whether you're  planning on enjoying a full sit down meal or just want to nip to the pub for a (soft) drink or two, you'll be able to take part in the Eat Out To Help Out scheme.

The initiative runs from August 3 to 31 every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with a maximum of £10 discount per diner. You also don’t need a voucher to take part and there is no minimum spend.

We've compiled a list of Glasgow venues taking part here, but to see every food and drink spot taking part near you, you can visit the UK Government website, here.
