‘How do you relate to a billionaire?!’: Eminem slams Trump base as easily fooled rubes in deep denial

Eminem hasn’t exactly hidden his contempt for Donald Trump over the years. During the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards, he devoted a freestyle entirely dedicated to mocking Trump, wrapping it up with some bars that left zero ambiguity:

And any fan of mine who’s a supporter of his / I’m drawing in the sand a line / You’re either for or against / And if you can’t decide who you like more and you’re split / On who you should stand beside / I’ll do it for you with this: F*** you.”

Can’t say it more clearly than that! He didn’t let up in his 2017 album Revival, with the lyrics “Donald Duck’s on as the Tonka Truck in the yard / But dog, how the f*** is Ivanka Trump in the trunk of my car? / … Cause I feel somewhat responsible for the dumb little blonde girl, that mother****in’ baton twirler that got dumped in the pond” earning him an actual visit from the Secret Service as they were considered “threatening”.

That visit then prompted these lyrics from the 2018 track “The Ringer”: “Cause Agent Orange just sent the Secret Service / To meet in person to see if I really think of hurtin’ him / Or ask if I’m linked to terrorists / I said, ‘Only when it comes to ink and lyricists.'”

These people are morons

He hasn’t held back on Trump’s supporters either. In an interview with Vulture, he was asked about Trump supporters and quickly and brutally dismissed them as intensely gullible morons:

“Watching him play to his base that thinks he cares about them and it’s actually the people he cares about the f**king least. … What I don’t understand is how in the f**k do you feel like you relate to a billionaire who has never known struggle his entire f**king life?”

That nails down the greatest con Trump ever pulled. Leaving everything else aside, convincing a large portion of poor Americans that a billionaire who has been rich and privileged his entire life can relate to you is a genuinely impressive political achievement.

Unfortunately for the nation, said achievement has saddled us with a rapidly deteriorating madman as president who’s now openly teasing becoming a dictator and gobbling up so much personal power he may as well be a king.

We loved the Stans documentary that recently landed and are hopeful of a new album to quickly follow up on last year’s The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce). And hey, the second Trump administration has got to be giving him a lot of inspiration right now.
