Sports bars that lean on skimpy uniforms have always been a point of tension for couples. Some people see them as harmless, others see them as a walking red flag. And depending on who you ask, places like Hooters, Twin Peaks, and Ojos Locos can either be a harmless occasional visit or a total relationship dealbreaker.
Recently, one couple on TikTok showed how quickly the conversation can go sideways.
Boyfriend Wants to Go to Ojos Locos
TikTok creators Janex and Tyler (@jtcouple) posted a short clip that blew up with more than 5.9 million views, all because of one restaurant suggestion.
In the video, Tyler casually floats the idea of grabbing dinner. “All right, you’re hungry, right?” he asks. She says she’s starving. He follows up with, “I just found this restaurant called Ojos Locos. We’re definitely gonna go right now.”
That’s when her expression becomes suspicious. “Ojos what?” she asks. When he repeats it, she stops him: “How do you know about that place?”
He tries to brush it off. “What do you mean how do I know about this place?” She comes back with, “I’m gonna turn loca (crazy) right now. Are you serious?”
“They have good appetizers,” Tyler responds. She fires back, “Oh yeah, good appetizers? You don’t even know Spanish.” He tells her, “They can teach me.”
She switches into Spanish herself, saying, “Estás loco. Tú estás loco,” which means ‘You’re crazy.’ “We’re not going there,” she adds. “We’re going to McDonald’s.”
The caption underneath the clip reads, “What do y’all recommend from Ojos Locos?”
Commenters Have Questions of Their Own
Many viewers fixated less on the fight and more on the couple’s reactions.
“I’m sorry… how does she know about Ojos Locos?” one person wrote.
“What’s happening in Ojos Locos?” another asked.
Someone else summed it up: “Is Ojos Locos a Mexican Hooters?”
Meanwhile, another viewer joked that Tyler had accidentally stumbled onto the one thing guaranteed to force a partner to choose a restaurant: “Bro figured out how to get his gf to finally choose a place to eat.”
What Is Ojos Locos?
Ojos Locos, Spanish for “crazy eyes,” brands itself as a Mexican sports cantina. It’s part of the broader “breastaurant” category, where the servers are mostly women, and the uniforms are intentionally revealing.
The chain is especially popular in Texas, where the first restaurant opened, and most of its locations sit, but it also appears in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, and California. The décor leans into a rowdy, sports-bar vibe, and the customer base is largely working-class Hispanic men.
Despite the branding, the two founders behind the chain, Rich Hicks and Todd Istre, don’t appear to have cultural ties to the community the restaurant markets to.
How Do People Feel About Their Partners Going to Places Like Ojos Locos?
Outside TikTok, the conversation is already happening in other corners of the internet. On Reddit, one user asked if people would be fine with their partner going to Hooters, Twin Peaks, or Ojos Locos. The answers weren’t subtle.
One person said, “If they were visiting breastaurants regularly, I’d probably lose respect for them, but once in a blue moon, it’s not a big deal.”
Another didn’t mince words: “I wouldn’t, no. I find men who would be into that sort of establishment off-putting and I’d be entirely turned off by him.”
Someone else echoed that vibe: “In principle I wouldn’t really care, but I can’t imagine myself being in a relationship with someone who’s excited by that type of thing lol.”

Then came the strongest take: “No, I wouldn’t be fine with it. A guy wanting to go to places like that tells me a lot about how he views women, and none of it is good. I’m also not going to pretend to be a Cool Girl who says, ‘Only if he takes me with him because I like to look at hot women too!’ Miss me with that bullsh-t.”
