David Cameron is on course to secure a majority in the general election in an astonishing electoral triumph. Labour failed to secure seats in the key English marginals and early results suggest the Tories may even win enough seats to secure an overall majority.
The Liberal Democrats were crushed. Vince Cable, the business secretary, lost his seat in Twickenham. Clegg narrowly survived in his own Sheffield Hallam seat but will return to Westminster with fewer than 10 MPs, down from 57 in 2010.
Scotland witnessed the most dramatic switch with only three seats untouched by SNP.
How do you feel about election night results? Were you surprised? Should more attention have been paid to tactical voting? Given the outcome, would you have voted differently?
