Everyone has their own unique Shabbat traditions. And it turns out that Hollywood power couple Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher do as well.
In an interview last week with ExtraTV, the actress said that kiddush is a big part of her Friday night experience.
"We do Shabbat at our house," she said while promoting her upcoming film, Bad Moms 2. "At Shabbat, you have a sip of wine. My daughter had a sip of wine since she was born… Friday mornings she wakes up and I say it’s Friday, she says, ‘I can have wine!’”
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight earlier this month, the actress, who came on age on the set of That 70s Show, discussed how she raises her two kids, Wyatt and Dimitri, with different December traditions.
“In Russia, back in the day, it was a very religious holiday, so you don’t celebrate Christmas if you’re not Christian and if you’re not at Mass,” said Kunis, who was born in the Ukraine and moved to the US at age 7 to escape religious persecution. "So, I being Jewish, was like, ‘Christmas is not for you.’ We come to America and we’re like, ‘Christmas is so inclusive.’”
Today, she said, "my family’s big on any excuse to get the family together and get drunk. Whether it’s Easter, which we’ve now all accepted into our Jewish household, or Christmas, it doesn’t matter. It’s all family time, but having kids, we’re building up our own little versions of tradition.”
