How do Jaguars’ rookies rate on Madden 2020?

With “Madden 2020” set to hit the shelves on August 2, the good people over at Electronic Arts have been hard at work to put the finishing touches on the game. They recently released their rookie ratings for this year’s version of the popular franchise, and Jacksonville Jaguars fans should be happy to know that the team’s 2019 rookie class actually had solid numbers.

Check them out.

DE, Josh Allen: 77
TE, Josh Oliver: 71
OT, Jawaan Taylor: 71
RB, Ryquell Armstead: 65
LB, Quincy Williams: 65
NT, Dontavius Russell: 64
WR, Tyre Brady: 63
S, Andrew Wingard: 62
S, Zedrick Woods: 61
LB, Joe Giles Harris: 60
QB, Gardner Minshew: 59
OL, Donnell Greene: 57
CB, Savion Smith: 57

Our takeaways

Josh Allen’s overall grade may seem a little low, but when comparing him to the other rookies in the 2019 class, only three players had higher ratings than him in Quinnen Williams (80), Ed Oliver (79) and Nick Bosa (78). Another tidbit worth mentioning is that Allen should have good movement skills in “Madden 2020” as he was given an 86 and 88 in the speed and agility categories.

Jawaan Taylor’s grade is one many would argue should be along the lines of a 74-75, as he was projected to be a top pick going into the draft. By comparison, Josh Oliver, who was taken a round later had the exact same rating, which feels a bit off for Taylor who was a solid blocker during his time in the Southeastern Conference.

Running back Ryquell Armstead was given a surprising rating in terms of his speed (90), but when looking at his tape, he clearly has some wheels despite weighing 220 pounds.

Lastly, linebacker Quincy Williams was given solid numbers when it comes to movement attributes, acquiring a, 87, 89 and 78 in the speed, acceleration and agility categories. Those figures should make him a valuable asset in coverage as the game continues to evolve when it comes to the passing game.
