Manchester United new signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka compared to Max Aarons on Football Manager

After weeks of negotiations, Manchester United have finally completed the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace, with the club confirming the news this evening.

The English full-back becomes United's second signing of the summer so far, with Daniel James arriving from Swansea earlier this summer, in what is predicted to be a busy transfer window for the club.

However, during the protracted talks, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side were being linked with a number of different right-backs, including Norwich City defender Max Aarons.

So, have United bought the best right-back of the two?

And, how do their attributes and potential compare?

We used Football Manager 2019 to find out.

Current Ability: 134/200

Potential Ability:   -8 (160/200)

Positions: RWB/RB/MR/AMR/LWB/LB/CM

Wan-Bissaka is a highly promising young defender, who is already an established Premier League player.

The 21-year-old has a current ability of 134 out of 200 on Football Manager 2019, to put this into context, this makes him a solid Premier League player, even more highly rated than Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot (130) and not far off Ashley Young (144).

However, his potential ability on Football Manager 2019 has been set as -8, this means he could potentially reach a current ability of 160 out of 200 in the future.

This could make him one of the best right-backs in world football in a few years time, better than the likes of Dani Carvajal (159), Joshua Kimmich (158) and Kyle Walker (153).

Max Aarons - Norwich City

Current ability: 128/200

Potential ability: 155/200

Positions: RB/LB/RWB/RM/CM

Best attributes: Determination (17), acceleration (15), pace (15), natural fitness (15), composure (15), balance (14), stamina (14), tackling (14), technique (14).

(Football Manager 2019)

His current ability on Football Manager 2019 right now is 128 out of 200, which rates him lower than United defender Diogo Dalot (130) and even Marcos Rojo (138), so Wan-Bissaka rates more highly right now.

His potential ability is 155 out of 200, which is also lower than United's new man, who has a max potential of 160 out of 200.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka vs Max Aarons - Summary

(Football Manager 2019)

Here are both players attributes side by side, with the best attributes for the full-back (attack) role highlighted.

As you can see, Wan-Bissaka edges it in terms of key attributes but Aarons is incredibly well developed for his age.

Even so, Wan-Bissaka is the player with the most potential of the two and is the more developed player overall, plus he has more experience of playing in the Premier League.

According to Football Manager, Wan-Bissaka has the potential to become United's right-back for years to come and is just going to get better and better, a great signing.
