American rapper J $tash, 28, and a woman was found dead in a home in Temple City, California, on Saturday, reports claim.
On New Year's Day, the up-and-coming rapper - real name Justin Joseph - is believed to have killed 27-year-old Jeanette Gallegos - who is thought to have been dating and living with - before turning the gun on himself, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has alleged.
"The female victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds, while the male victim sustained an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound," deputies told PEOPLE magazine.
The Sun report that the law enforcement say that the couple had been arguing before $tash took his girlfriend into the master bedroom and locked the door behind them.
Gunshots were reportedly heard and the children in the home called their grandmother, who told them to call the police immediately.
Cops arrived at the home at 7:15 am after reports of domestic violence.
$tash was known as an up-and-coming rapper after releasing an album in 2016.
Following his first release, he went on to release three albums.
Jeanette was a mother to three children, from a previous relationship aged from 5 to 11.
They were unharmed and removed from the home when deputies arrived at the scene and are reportedly staying with family.
Janette was a recent graduate of California State University and was thought to have been in a relationship $tash for the past year.
Following her tragic death, her sister, Erika Chavez, set up a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.
The bio on the fundraising page reads: "In Loving Memory of my sister Jeanette Gallegos. Daughter, Sister, aunt and mother above all.
"With a heavy heart, my sister passed away Jan 1, 2022. A tragic and unexpected loss for my family & nephews God has gained another angel My sister was full of life, she was the sweetest most caring person, always there for everyone who needed her.
"Her favourite quote 'live today because tomorrow is not promised'.
"My sister leaves behind 3 beautiful boys who will have to continue living life with what’s left, the memories created with their mommy. Anything helps even just sharing this post. The donations will be used for my sister’s funeral expenses.

People who knew the brunette have taken to the page's comments to leave tributes.
One friend wrote: "I’m going miss all the times we shared together. You are the sweetest person I met from la. Always smiling, smart and loved your children . I’m going miss working with you."
Another added: "May your beautiful soul rest in eternal peace. You’ll always be our cheer sister Jeanette, fly high beauty."
More penned: "Our childhood memories will forever stay in my heart" and "Rest In Peace beautiful."
