How did booze bandit stick $1,000 worth of scotch down his pants?

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. _ If at first you succeed try again _ and again.

A thief who did just that was able to get away with bottles of scotch worth more than $1,000 from a liquor store in Boynton Beach, Fla., according to police.

Investigators Monday released surveillance images of the shoplifting that happened Oct. 5 at the Total Wine store at 850 N. Congress Ave.

The man would take bottles out of their boxes and conceal them down the front of his pants, police said.

The brand of the scotch, which can be pricey, wasn't immediately known _ nor was the exact number of bottles that were stolen.

However, the thief didn't grab all the booze booty at one time.

He entered and exited the store three times over the course of three hours, said police spokeswoman Stephanie Slater.

Investigators are hoping the surveillance images will generate leads in the case.
