How Daniel Farke's Norwich will try to expose Mikel Arteta and Arsenal

I never expected to be saying Arsenal's clash against Norwich City is a must-win for the Gunners, but after three consecutive defeats, that's exactly the case.

Not only have Arsenal failed to register a single point so far this season, but they have also failed to find the back of the net in all three fixtures as well.

Mikel Arteta is coming under increasing pressure, and getting three points today is vital for him as well as his team.

Norwich have also endured a difficult start to their league campaign, joining Arsenal in losing the first three games. Today's fixture sees both clubs collide as they sit rock bottom of the Premier League, meaning the result has become even more important for all involved.

So, what can we expect to see from the Canaries? I spoke to Norfolk Live's Norwich City Writer, Michael Mutch, to find out just that.

What will Norwich look to achieve at the Emirates?

"Norwich will be buoyed by their performance against Leicester City and confident they can get something at Arsenal.

"Many will see this as a perfect opportunity for the Gunners to get their season up and running but this is also the same for Norwich.

"Last time in the Premier League the Canaries were underprepared but over the summer transfer window they have gone out to stock up the armoury and boost their chances at survival.

"I think we can expect Norwich to have a go by trying to apply high pressure on Arsenal and get the likes of Milot Rashica and Todd Cantwell on the ball as much as possible."

How have they fared so far this season?

"Nobody was expecting Norwich to come away with anything in August so it comes as no surprise that they find themselves in the relegation zone with zero points to their name.

"However, the Canaries have not laid down and just let teams steamroll through them as people would think.

"They went toe-to-toe with Liverpool for an hour until the effects of a lack of pre-season preparation showed and tired legs kicked in, allowing the likes of Salah, Mane and Firmino to pick them off. Against Leicester, it can be argued that Norwich were the better side on the day but luck was not in their favour and Kenny McLean’s disallowed goal was a massive blow.

"Norwich are where they are expected to be at the moment but with a tricky run of fixtures out of the way this could be the time we see some results."

What do Arsenal need to be aware of?

"Norwich may see this as the best time to go to Arsenal. Playing at home may be seen as a benefiting factor but when your own fans are piling on the pressure then the Canaries advantage can use that to their advantage.

"Norwich are still the underdogs here but with the Gunners battered and bruised from a horrific start the travelling Canaries support will want to see their side go for the jugular.

"Todd Cantwell, Teemu Pukki and Milot Rashica have been applying pressure to teams from the front when they can and the likes of Max Aarons and Brandon Williams will burst forward when Norwich win possession."

Who is Farke's star man?

"At the start of the season I would have said Todd Cantwell as everyone is looking to him to fill the void left by the departure of Emi Buendia in the summer.

"His performances this season have been overshadowed by the Canaries tough start but this may be the opportunity where Cantwell will push himself to stand out, whether that’s providing the goals or putting them away.

"With the arrival of Mathias Norman to fill the holding midfielder role this will give licence for Billy Gilmour to focus on setting Norwich on their way in attack.

"The young Chelsea loanee showed how vital he is for Scotland during the international break and now that the pressure of protecting the Canaries back line is off his shoulders we might start to see more of that with Norwich."

Score prediction?

"Everyone expects Arsenal to get their season up and running on Saturday and I think that will be the overall outcome. I don’t think it will be as easy as everyone else thinks so a narrow win for the Gunners is my prediction. Arsenal 2-1 Norwich."
