How Crystal Palace are helping Middlesbrough ahead of Tottenham FA Cup tie

Tottenham take on Championship side Middlesbrough on Tuesday night in the replay of the FA Cup third round tie.

The first match, played at Middlesbrough's the Riverside Stadium, ended in a 1-1 draw. Ashley Fletcher gave the home side the lead in the second half, but Lucas Moura struck just 11 minutes later to ensure that the tie went to a replay.

Middlesbrough will travel down to London to visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with the hope of causing a cup upset.

Should they achieve that, Boro may need to thank one of Spurs' London and Premier League rivals for helping them out in the run-up to the game.

Tottenham 0-1 Liverpool: Jose Mourinho post match press conference

Middlesbrough manager Jonathan Woodgate has said that Crystal Palace are allowing his team to train at their training ground during their time in London, with the squad spending the next five days in the capital ahead of a Championship trip to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham.

The ex-Spurs man also revealed that a request to use Tottenham's training facilities in between the games had been turned down.

"The plan this week is we will travel down on Monday and we will be away until the early hours of Saturday morning, so we won’t come back. It’s pointless coming back," said Woodgate, as reported by the Northern Echo .

“If we go to Spurs we’ll get back about three in the morning and then we’ll have to travel back on Thursday so we’ll stay down.

“We’ll be training at a club, we’ve been rejected by a few clubs. Spurs rejected us to train down there, we’ve been rejected by a few. Crystal Palace said we could train so I’m really happy about that.”
