How coronavirus infection rates in Greater Manchester compare with everywhere else in England

Coronavirus infection rates are falling fast across England following the latest national lockdown.

But there remains a huge difference in the number of positive cases being reported between different areas of the country.

In Corby, Northamptonshire, for example, the infection rate is still above 300 cases per 100,000 people.

While in parts of Devon, the rate has fallen to just 11.

More than half the country remains above 100 cases per 100,000 people and the average for the nation as a whole is just under 125.

Greater Manchester's rate is 185.5 coronavirus cases per 100,000 people.

And two of our boroughs are among a handful that are seeing case numbers rise slightly, rather than fall.

They are Tameside and Bury.

And all ten boroughs except Trafford remain among the top 100 authorities in the country by infection rate.

Bolton is the highest at 228 followed not far behind by Bury on 223 cases per 100,000 people.

Here is the national rankings for all 315 local authorities in England
