How Christine McGuinness transformed from beauty queen to fitness queen

Christine McGuinness is known for her amazing figure and pristine appearance but over the past 10 years she's transformed her look.

The Real Housewives of Cheshire Star, 32, has had three children but has managed to keep her trim figure through her love of the gym.

Christine, who was the former Miss Liverpool, has transformed from a fresh-faced beauty queen into a dedicated gym addict.

She regularly shares updates of her routine in the gym.

Through the coronavirus lockdown, Christine, who is married to Top Gear host Paddy McGuinness, has also been sharing her home workouts.

Here, we take a look at how Christine has transformed over the years.

Beauty queen days

Modelling career and meeting Paddy McGuinness

Christine became a regular on the modelling circuit, particularly in Liverpool.

She often appeared with people such as Abbey Clancy at events.

She met her future husband Paddy during a fashion show at the Liverpool Tennis Tournament.

Christine kept her slim figure and still had brunette hair, but started to wear more make-up as she entered her early 20s.

Paddy and Christine's romance blossomed and in 2009 he popped the question on Christmas Day.

The pair wed in a lavish ceremony at Thornton Manor in Wirral in June 2011 after more than three years together.

Pregnancy

After two years of marriage the couple announced they were expecting twins.

In 2013, they welcomed Leo and Penelope in the world.

At the 2013 Brit Awards, Christine appeared on the red carpet with Paddy with her bump on show.

She glowed in her tight blue dress and had also started to put blonde highlights into her hair.

Following the birth of the twins, Christine worked hard to regain her pre-pregnancy figure but said that having children made her realise she was 'too skinny'.

She then started to try and build muscle in the gym.

Christine shared her gym journey with her fans as she built envy-inducing abs.

When the twins were 18 months old, she decided to undergo a boob job and increase her bust size from a 32D to a 32E.

In 2016 she announced she was pregnant again and charted how her body was changing on Instagram.

Following the birth of daughter Felicity, Christine was vocal about not rushing to lose her baby weight.

She said: "I have lost a lot of muscle tone, I have cellulite, loose skin and my body is nothing like it used to be. But I have 3 amazing children! They're my absolute world, my happiness. The reason I love, live and laugh every day.

"I can't exercise for at least 6 weeks after my c-section but I'm not in any rush. Recovery is key. And I'm far too busy being madly in love with my babies."

Christine showcased her three stone weight loss three months after the birth.

The Real Housewives of Cheshire and gym obsession

In 2017, Christine revealed she had thought about ending her life while battling an eating disorder as a child.

In response to comments from a troll branding her 'too skinny' Christine decided to open up about her battle.

She said: “From 13-18 I suffered from an eating disorder that was close to anorexia and I know how awful it is.

“I worried my mum sick, I was exhausted, my periods stopped and doctors said there might be future problems with my fertility and I had to take iron tablets.

“I’d lie and say I’d eaten when I hadn’t to avoid family meals and being a model I was keen to keep up with all the other girls.”

In 2019, she opened up about the terrifying moment she thought she had miscarried her twins after the legacy of her teenage eating disorder left struggling to conceive for four years.

Christine is now much healthier and credits the gym with helping her mental health more than her physical health.
