How Chelsea and Tottenham's results affect Premier League top four race

Manchester United's bad week got even worse thanks to Tottenham and Chelsea's victories on Wednesday night.

The London pair's wins saw United drop down to sixth place in the Premier League table, and rubbed salt in the wounds of their 2-1 defeat at Wolves on Tuesday night.

Tottenham beat Crystal Palace 2-0 in the first match at their new stadium to go up to third in the table, with Son Heung-min and Christian Eriksen both netting in the second half.

While Chelsea went one better and beat Brighton 3-0 at Stamford Bridge, where Olivier Giroud, Eden Hazard and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were on target.

That result saw the Blues leapfrog United into fifth, level on points with fourth-placed Arsenal .
