How Chelsea ace Tammy Abraham can benefit from Marcus Rashford's injury at Manchester United

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham could benefit from Marcus Rashford's groin injury.

The Manchester United forward was taken off during their 2-0 defeat to West Ham United at the weekend, with over half an hour of the contest still to go.

The Red Devils were already without Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood, leaving Jesse Lingard to operate as a central striker for the remainder of the fixture.

However, whilst Rashford's absence was a blow at the London Stadium, there are fears that he could be ruled out until after the international break.

According to the  Daily Mail , United are waiting to receive the result of his scan but it's looking likely that he will miss at least a month of first-team action.

And his absence could be good news for Abraham.

With England taking on the Czech Republic and Bulgaria in a EURO2020 double-header next month, Abraham could benefit from Rashford's injury.

The Chelsea forward has been in superb form for the Blues in recent weeks and has seven Premier League goals to his name this season.

The 22-year-old was unfortunate to miss out on Gareth Southgate's squad last time around but with Rashford likely to be out, his purple patch should ensure he earns his second senior call-up.

Abraham made his England debut in 2017 in a friendly 0-0 draw against Germany at Wembley Stadium.

Southgate has, evidently, always been a fan of the Chelsea youngster and given his youthful philosophy which has offered chances to Mason Mount and Callum Hudson-Odoi, Abraham looks to be a shoo-in for the next squad.

The Three Lions are on the travels for both of their upcoming fixtures, first away at the Czech Republic on October 11 before travelling to Bulgaria on October 14.
