How Charlotte Crosby went from Geordie Shore wild child to expectant mother

Charlotte Crosby just announced she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Jake Ankers.

Charlotte is best known for being a fan-favourite on the MTV show Geordie Shore, and has had a successful career since then.

She announced the happy news to her fans on Instagram, saying: "A moment I wasn’t sure would ever be mine Is here, it’s mine (and Jakes) and i couldn’t be happier to be sharing it with you all……Im having a baby."

The happy news comes six years after Charlotte suffered a devastating ectopic pregnancy, which she admitted that she could have died from.

Charlotte suffered through the ectopic pregnancy – which occurs when a fetus begins to develop outside of the womb – after her split from co-star and on-off boyfriend Gary Beadle.

The reality TV star hasn't always been so lucky in love since she shot to fame on the MTV reality show, so let's have a look over her ups and downs on her way to her happy ending..

Geordie Shore

Charlotte shot to fame and quickly became a household name after being cast in MTV's Geordie Shore in 2011.

The show is a spin-off of the American version, Jersey Shore.

She featured in 12 series of the show and quickly became known for an on/off relationship with fellow cast member Gaz Beadle.

The blonde beauty shared some insight into the messy nights that were had with her Geordie Shore family as she hit back at a fan who claimed she made millions from “s***ting, p***ing and s***ging on TV”.

The bubbly star hit back at the comment on her YouTube channel as she insisted that she actually never did soil herself on TV – because producers wouldn’t allow the scenes to be shown.

“F**k me, I did well for myself, didn't I? Though I never s**t myself on TV,” Charlotte confirmed.

"The one time I did, it wasn't allowed to be shown. Poo apparently isn't allowed to be shown on a TV show unless it's about something medical.

"Seeing as Geordie Shore wasn't Holby City, we weren't actually allowed to show the time I s**t my pants in Mexico.”

In 2013, Charlotte entered the Big Brother house for the 12th season where she was soon crowned the winner.

After her Big Brother win, it was confirmed she would have her own reality series on TLC, The Charlotte Crosby Experience, where she would spend time in different cultures and live with some of the world’s unique communities.

She said: “I am bursting with excitement about my new show with TLC. I literally want to run around shouting about it from the rooftops!”

In January 2015, MTV UK announced that Charlotte was set to star in the second series of reality series Ex on the Beach. The series premiered later that month.

She joined the cast in the villa in the series fifth episode, appearing as an ex of fellow Geordie Shore cast member Gary Beadle.

Plastic surgery

The 31-year-old has changed a lot since she appeared on MTV as a fresh faced 21-year-old.

The reality star has admitted to getting lip fillers, a rhinoplasty, a boob job and tattooing her eyebrows on.

Charlotte showed off the results of her 2016 nose job as she opened up to fans during a Q&A session.

She revealed all during her candid question and answer time on her Instagram Story, saying she has no regrets and she's "so glad I got rid of the hook".

She shared some before snaps prior to having the surgery, as fans quizzed her about the procedure.

The photos showed Charlotte's nose from the side before she had the pricey procedure, alongside shots of her new nose.

It comes after an interested fan asked her: "Did you get your nose done abroad or in English [sic] cause I'm getting mine done soon x"

Charlotte responded: "England. By @elitesurgical Dr Hassan he's great."

She recently spoke to Abbie McCarthy on the Celebrity Search Engine podcast about how she still suffers with upset since Celebrities - What Happened To Your Face - Charlotte Crosby aired in April.

She told Abbie: ''That was probably the only time I felt anxiety, like bad anxiety... I can't even describe the feeling it's a really strange feeling, like it actually still brings tears to my eyes now."

Charlotte, who is currently touring the country doing a live show called One Night With Charlotte, has admitted to having had eyebrow tattoos and lip fillers.

During an interview on This Morning in 2018, she revealed to getting her filler topped up every 12 months.

“I get them done once a year,” she said. “I had a big problem down the sides, but once a year that’s it and I don’t think they’re that bad.”

The Channel 5 show, Celebrities: What's Happened to Your Face? took aim at Charlotte's plastic surgery procedures, which she branded 'cruel'.

According to The Sun, the doctor warns that Charlotte is at risk of looking "plastic" which she thinks could be down to her "circle of friends who think it’s acceptable."

In a clip seen by the outlet, Dr Sabrina reportedly says: "She’s getting to visible signs of having fillers. Good jobs are not visible, bad jobs are extremely visible."

As she and other experts look at photos of the Newcastle native, she continues: "You can see her lips are too full, the apple of her cheek is too big, almost like a golf ball. That’s looking slightly unreal."

Relationships

Gary Beadle

Charlotte went through a lot with Gary when they dated, airing all their relationship highs and lows on the MTV show.

They had an on/off relationship, but broke up for good in 2016 after she found out Gary had cheated on her with other women while filming for Ex On The Beach.

Following their split, Gary went on to marry Emma McVey who he shares two children with, Chester and Primrose.

Just last year, Charlotte branded Gary as "toxic" and the "worst boyfriend ever".

Speaking to her mum Letitia on her podcast Vibrators and Values, she said: "A lot of people who are listening to this would class Gary as a boyfriend, even though he never was.

"But do you think he would take number one spot? I think he would take the number one spot if he was. I think it would be quite shocking if G came last, considering what I went through."

"I don't even know how I can even say this. I haven't forgiven him, but it kind of is what it is and I don't hold a grudge against him anymore."

Ash Harrison

In the summer of 2016, Charlotte met her boyfriend Ash who she was with for around six months until they called it quits.

The couple were pictured on a string of dates during their time together and even enjoyed a holiday in Ibiza.

Ash unfollowed the Geordie babe on Instagram and Twitter, leaving fans to believe they had called it a day on their relationship.

The reason for their split was never shared, but he did share a cryptic message on Twitter about people who "constantly disrespect you" at the time.

Stephen Bear

Charlotte and fellow reality star Stephen confirmed their romance in February 2017 after much speculation they were dating.

They went through a lot, with claims Stephen had cheated on her during a clubbing night out bringing their six month romance to an end.

In August 2017, the pair had a shaky moment when Charlotte sobbed on Snapchat about loving Bear "so much" but feeling she wasn't what he wanted and saying they had split.

Joshua Ritchie

Charlotte moved on from Stephen with Love Island's Joshua.

The pair met as her turbulent relationship with Just Tattoo Of Us co-star Stephen was coming to an end.

Many believed the couple were in it for the long haul, especially after she moved to Bolton to live with the hunk.

In November 2019, Charlotte announced their split on social media.

"Me and Josh have decided to part ways," she wrote.

Charlotte added: "Sadly the relationship seems to have broken drown. Hoping we can still remain civil and wish him the best for the future."

Ryan Gallagher

During a stint in the South African jungle on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, Charlotte met boyfriend Ryan.

The couple enjoyed a whirlwind romance after meeting on the show.

But once, they were out, Ryan explained "reality hit pretty quickly".

He told NW magazine: "Everything is obviously so isolated in the jungle and all of your emotions run at a high.

"While we were great in there, when we got out reality hit pretty quickly. It was clear it was never going to work.

"We are two very different people who also live on the opposite sides of the the earth."

Liam Beaumont

Charlotte and Liam met in early 2020, before the coronavirus lockdown, during a holiday in the UAE.

They got together quickly while the reality star was enjoying a getaway with the Geordie Shore girls.

The pair were together throughout the lockdown - but went their separate ways after the Sunderland-born star decided enough was enough.

A source close Charlotte told The Sun that the reality TV star had found the relationship "different" after Covid restrictions were lifted.

The source said: "They did seem like the perfect couple and after they met in February last year they were head-over-heels in love.

"But like so many other couples, their relationship was born – and evolved – during lockdown which meant they were always together and life was pretty easy.

Speaking to the MailOnline, the reality TV star explained she was "thankful" for the relationship and stressed that the split was "amicable".

"Me and Liam shared some amazing memories together and the split is amicable," she told the publication.

"We have just realised we are both two very different people. I have learnt so much in this relationship and am thankful that it happened."

Pregnancy heartbreak

Fans of Charlotte are delighted to see the star confirm her pregnancy, after her 2016 heartbreak.

As she announced her news to fans, she said this was "a moment I wasn't ever sure I would be mine" after she suffered an ectopic pregnancy in 2016 during her relationship with Gary Beadle, 34.

An ectopic pregnancy is when the foetus develops outside the womb, which can be fateful.

Charlotte recalled how she thought she "f**k, I’m not gonna be able to have kids" after she nearly died when doctors discovered she had been internally bleeding for a week after her fallopian tube was split open and had to remove right fallopian tube and ovary.

Charlotte previously spoke about her heart-breaking ectopic pregnancy and going through it alone as her former co-star and ex Gaz was away filming Ex On The Beach in 2016.

Speaking on Geordie Shore: Their Story last year, Charlotte became emotional as she said: "The gynaecologist said, 'What’s happening to your body now is you’re having an ectopic pregnancy,' where the egg gets trapped in the fallopian tube and actually just starts to grow there until it can’t grow no more.'

"And I was literally on the verge of dying. If I'd left it any longer I just wouldn’t be here. Me fallopian tube had split open and I’d been internally bleeding for the last week, and then I got rushed into surgery.

"And the gynaecologist came in and told us that I had... had my right fallopian tube and ovary taken away. Straight away I just thought, 'F**k I’m not gonna be able to have kids', like, this is awful."

Current boyfriend

She's been dating businessman Jake since last year, after she split from Liam in August.

Charlotte has kept this relationship underwraps, and only confirming their relationship in January 2021.

In the pregnancy announcement video, Charlotte broke down in tears as she shared her exciting news with her mother Letitia, while her dad told Jake he had "never seen my daughter so happy".

Not much is known about Jake, but he has two restaurants listed in his bio on Instagram, which he might own, and reportedly owns a luxury apartment in the heart of Manchester, where he lives with Charlotte.

He made his Instagram private following his romance with Charlotte - but you can find him @jake_ankers where he currently boasts around 10,000 followers.
