How Celtic cost two unlucky punters £25k each because of a lack of faith

Neil Lennon was buzzing after his Celtic side fizzed six of the best past a rocked Ross County on Saturday afternoon.

But the Hoops' second-half goal blitz cost two hapless Footie5 punters £25,000 each!

That's the prize for correctly predicting five scores in thepools.com's free to enter game - the game in which you can even select which fixtures you want to predict.

And one player from Stockport and another from Cardiff correctly called four our of five fixtures spot on, and then had Celtic to win to nil against Ross County.

One player predicted 2-0 and the other 3-0, but then watched in dismay as Celtic blitzed four goals in nine second half minutes to win 6-0, go back top of the Premiership and scuppered their hopes of winning the big prize!

Ross County co-manager Stuart Kettlewell echoed the Footie5 players' sentiments when he said: "The greatest disappointment for us was how we conceded the second goal and the reaction after it."

A total of 43 Footie5 players did correctly predict Celtic to win 6-0 against Ross County - but not in tandem with the other four fixtures.

They'll be having another go this weekend.
