Holi festival is meant for colours so it brings fun and celebration, however, playing colours is fun but potentially it brings the risks to eye health as while playing colours may harm your eyes. Chemical based colours water splashes, dust can be harmful for eyes this is how taking care of eyes during this season becomes essential. Let's know about a few essential eye care tips that help protect eyes from harmful colours.

Do's: Important eye care tips for Holi

Don't forget to apply a thin layer of coconut oil or petroleum jelly before leaving your house. Before stepping out; it will help prevent sticking and causing irritation.

While playing Holi use sunglasses or protective glasses to protect your eyes from harmful colors and dust.

Go for natural or organic colors that are skin friendly; it will help avoid chemical exposure that may be responsible for eye irritation.

When someone applies colours on your face, remember to close your eyes. This will help avoid entering colour in your eyes.

In case colours enter your eyes, do not rub your eyes but wash them gently with clean and cold water.

Keep Ayurvedic or preservative-free lubricating eye drops handy to soothe dryness or irritation.

If color enters your eyes avoid rubbing it as it may push it deeper and lead to eye irritation or redness.

Lenses can trap harmful chemicals, increasing the risk of infections. Opt for glasses instead.

Avoid using harsh soaps or face washes. Use mild face wash and cleansers; it's better to use lukewarm water to remove colours gently.

Choose natural colors as synthetic colors contain toxic substances that can damage the eyes. Opt for natural alternatives.
