How can I watch funeral of Gay Byrne live? Stream for RTE player and television

Family, famous friends and members of the public have turned out in their droves at St Mary's Pro Cathedral on Marlborough Street in Dublin city centre on Friday morning to say goodbye to Gay Byrne.

The legendary broadcaster died on Monday aged 85 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Requiem mass for The late, great Gaybo will be televised live on RTE One and the RTE Player from 11:30am until 1:30pm and will be followed by the news.

Gay is survived by his wife Kathleen, their daughters Crona and Suzy, and their families.

A book of condolences was  opened by the Lord Mayor of Dublin Paul McAuliffe which has been signed by celebrities, political leaders, broadcasters and the public.

The longtime host of RTE's The Late Late Show, 'Gaybo' presented a long running radio show on RTE Radio 1, first known as the 'Gay Byrne Hour' and then the 'Gay Byrne Show'.

After first airing in 1962, The Late Late Show went on to become one of the world's longest running chat shows thanks to Gay's relaxed but knowledgeable presentation style.
