When we switched our landline from TalkTalk to EE in early March, no one could phone us on our old number. EE said that the number had “been lost” and we were given a temporary one. For six weeks we have been trying to get the old one back. Each time EE comes up with multiple excuses. Now even the temporary number isn’t working. EE says it can’t be repaired as it is only a temporary number. JA, Tring, Hertfordshire
This happens a lot but is usually due to technical issues between service providers when customers are switching phone numbers. Of course it is annoying and very frustrating – and maddening when providers simply blame each other. But, on this occasion, EE has satisfactorily reinstated the old number, apologised and agreed to make you a payment as a gesture of goodwill to make up for the inconvenience.
An EE spokesperson said: “We have apologised to JA. We are pleased to report that everything has been resolved, and JA is happy with the outcome and our gesture of goodwill.”
